A 41 year old Anaheim man, who works as a clown at backyard parties and special events was charged today with multiple counts of child rape. Jose Guadalupe Jimenez, who goes by the nickname "El Tin Larin," is accused of kidnapping a 12 year-old girl outside a Taco Bell restaurant in Fullerton, California back in 2002. The girl described her attacker as a man in full clown makeup, who drove her to a school where he raped her in his vehicle, she was then taken to a motel parking lot where she was raped again. She was able to escape when her attacker went into the lobby to book a room, according to police.
Although the attack occurred in 2002 it wasn't solved until this past November when Jimenez was arrested on suspicion of abusing a relative's child, he submitted a DNA sample in accordance with California law. The sample matched those taken in 2002 from the victim. Police are still investigating the 2010 allegation.
Jimenez is being held in lieu of $1 million bail and his arraignment was continued to April 22nd.
