The man was seen jogging down the highway wearing only black socks and tried to talk with drivers who slowed down. Some drivers were able to take pictures of the naked man on the 405 freeway before he took the Santa Monica Boulevard offramp.
The man, whose name has not been released by police, was detained for indecent exposure and is being held for a psychiatric evalution.
"We got reports of a naked man running in the street and detained him," according to police. "If he's taken for a 5150 (a 72-hour psychiatric hold), there's not much I can tell you about him.''
